What is Niguma Yoga & Yoga Nidra?
Lady Niguma Yoga is illuminated by a text found and preserved by ALL! It is a special left handed lineage created by a woman that predates the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. The series combines inner and outer methods to achieve yoga or union of body/mind, normal/divine, left/right body. It utilizes a system of twisting, gathering, stretching and dispersing the subtle winds in channels called Nadis. We begin at the root chakra and work our way up to the crown in order to create an opening or untying of the knots(chakras) for a mental, emotional, and physical release.
Yoga Nidra is a guided relaxation technique that allows the mind to enter a hypnogogic state for deep healing and deep rest. It is called a yogic sleep and excellent for jet lag!
About the Class:
This is a one hour class open to all levels.
The structure of class: An hour of vinyasa and opening of the chakras followed by a relaxing yoga Nidra session in Savasana.

“I love guiding people into a deep state of relaxation that they can then carry into the rest of their day or even week. My go-to practice is Lady Niguma as it moves our attention to the subtle energy within us chakra by chakra followed by yoga nidra.”
Rachel has been teaching mostly in NYC since 2012 (Whole Foods, Hughs Hubbard & Reed Law Firm, Bowery Yoga, Manhattan Fitness Club) and recently moved to Southern Arizona where she teaches at Object Hotel. Her foundation as a yoga teacher comes from ISHTA, the integrated science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda and in the past year has studied the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Yoga of Lady Niguma with Edward Sczudlo. Rachel welcomes any level and has experience teaching pre-natal and seniors.
